Because when artists release material that isn't their best, rather than taking it as simply giving their fans more to listen to, critics review it harshly and criticize it for no fucking reason. See:
If you're referring to Neil Young, I guess you are, fans of him are criticizing the release because the
recording at the time is amazing, bootlegs of the concerts at the time are double disc treasures, and
the fans have waited years to hear a cleaned up major label release that was unedited.
Neil had talked for years and years about how he was going to release his vaults with tons of material,
and his first release is SIX songs from a concert that had like two hours of material? I can understand
why people are upset about this.
