Jerry Goldsmith used an odd mixture of of classical-style orchestral soundtrack music & arty Moog synth with wild percussion, definitely good. The copy I have is digitized from the LP version of the soundtrack (complete with clicks & pops), the new CD version ("FSM Silver Age Classics") is better.

this album came out in 1993 when they were completely irrelevent to me. i was in my post-"Nevermind" / gotta listen to all the indie/alternative rock bands / fill the rest of my time up with Trane/Monk/Mingus/Tatum/Ornette/Dolphy/Rahsaan jazz phase.
this is a pretty hot record. not as hot as VAPOR TRAILS, but there are some pretty good songs. "Between Sun & Moon" is my favorite upon first listen, but there's a lot to like here.
i picked this and five other Rush albums up for a grand total of $23 or $24, including shipping. gotta love half.com.

I don't think I hear it, but what do I know? Regardless, it's a great record. I am pretty sure mb sent me a copy of the sacd he has (I have the old version as well). I'm happy to make you a copy, but maybe it makes more sense for you to get a 2nd generation version from mb, with the bonus tracks.

Yeah, it was pretty cool. Ike's a great guy with a twisted/sarcastic sense of humor. The band won some recording time with him and an opening spot at one of his shows when they did that battle up at Mickey Finn's a while back. I don't think they realized the recording would be in Ike's house. I think it will be a great experience for them. He seems to want to really get involved in the process of helping them to shape the songs as they record -- production help they've never really had before.
Not sure where the show is going to be. Originally they were talking about the Genesee Theatre up in Waukegan, but I'm not sure that's going to happen. Ike wants an "unusual venue" for an all ages show, but he also wants liqueur available for his fans. Any ideas?

I've only seen this as an import. Most of this stuff is already familiar to me, though it all sounds freshly mixed for this comp. There's a few new ones though ("Everyday Preacher" has burned a hole in my brain).
