ok, so I know right off the bat that alot of the Somb-ers don't love it as I do. my favorite actual disc of the 2000's (glow part 2 and Endless summer always are close behind)
This disc is amazing. Every song is perfect. even the 12 minute "visiting friends". purchase the disc or get a really good quality rip and listen to this sucker on some good speakers. Now I want to know...why did Feels have to come along? pretty good disc and more accesable but jesus man, you had something amazing. I then heard some of a new tune and its in the Feels asthetic. Here Comes the Indian is good, Campfire Songs is good, why go back to the old sound. yes, feels is a better-made Spirit They're Gone. it's alright but man is it a let down from the masterpiece of Sung Tongs. sorry for rambling but I just listened to this disc for the third time in the past week and its still soo good.
you may now ridicule or (doubtfully) agree.

I do really like "Who Could Win A Rabbit"...the rest of the album has yet to grow on me as much as that track though...I'll give it another shot soon!

I like this album but all of their other albums are better. "Leaf House" might be their best song though. Also, Feels has way more in common with Sung Tongs than any of their older stuff, so I'm not sure what you're going on about there.

It may surprise many here that I was not impressed with Here Comes The Indian...I sold mine to a SOMBIE. To me, it was a bunch of meandering, over-reverbed noise.
It will take some convincing for me to get into Animal Collective again.

Sung Tongs is my favorite AC album, yeah. I just dig the bubbly acoustic vibe, s'all. It's like those kids who were all, "Dashboard Confessional is so real because he has something to say and he's saying it with an acoustic guitar and the acoustic guitar is such a nice instrument." It's not like that at all, actually. Sung Tongs sounds great on headphones.
They always make really good albums.

but it does sound like the old stuff. it has the same electronic pop sound that Spirit had going on. the buzz and fuzz. the electric guitar and drums. I'd say its a bit of a split between the two (Spirit and Sung Tongs) but it just doesn't feel as welcoming and warm as the latter.

I loved sung tongs when it came out with a passion, but since then I haven't listened to them much. I think I burned out on them or moved on or something. But Sung Tongs is still my favorite, and I also like Panda Bears' solo joint.

I've come around on Animal Collective. I still can't listen to them that often. But if I'm in the mood for AC their albums just sound so great.

this is one of those rare times I really just don't get "it." Sung Tongs just doesn't make sense to me beyond the first four tracks.
i like "feels" though.

Worst bump ever. I am drunk and listening to this and holy FUCK I love this cd. probibly my favorite thing of all time, coming in right above money and actually being alive. anyway, shit, what the hell, absolute classic album. better than 99.82% of music out there with a .12% margin of error. that panda bear cd is pretty good. Im gonna put it on after I finish this or half way through "visiting friends" whatever.

the first two tracks are genius, but I couldn't get into the rest of it. Then again I haven't heard it in two and a half years, so I'm smarter now and would probably like it, who knows.

what the fuck is with this thread title?
there is only one song on here that is even close to pop, and that's "Who Could Win A Rabbit"
most of the rest of the album is endless, meandering crap.

Just an absolute masterpiece... succeeds on pretty much every level. I don't understand people who dismiss Animal Collective as 'too weird'... the melodies on this album are instantly accessible. Just a monumental achievement. 10.0 - Absolutely blows away just about every contemporary album.
I still find it weird that you didn't like Feels, CP. It's no Sung Tongs, but it's pretty brilliant in its own right.
