Full Version: I just saw President Bush
Sound Opinions Message Board > Anything Goes > Et Cetera
jasmine
He's eating breakfast across the street from my office. Big motorcade, snipers, secret service, bomb sniffing dogs, the whole nine yards. He hopped out of a car and waved to everyone before being pushed into the restaurant.

I think I would've been more excited had it been Clinton or like, Al Gore or something.
tjenz
did you at least give him the finger?
Hips
yeah i got a message from the ol lady and she saw him this morning too. she wants to go out and protest in front of his hotel......i told her to grow up.
crease
The trappings of the presidency--the motorcades, press pool, secret service and security phalanx--are pretty darn cool. Regardless of how you feel about the guy, it gets the blood pumping a little bit.
tjenz
you should have titled this thread "I Just Saw Bush"
sin city
put on your backpack and run towards the restaurant shouting "Allah Ackbar!" the entire way- see what happens. report back here.
jasmine
We can't even get out of the building.

Crease, the motorcade was cool. It was especially fun to watch them pull up so quickly and then everyone hopped out and got into place. The snipers were the real entertainment, though. I watched them pull out their rifles and get all of their binoculars and shit into place.

Skinny, no protesters that I could see. I was surprised.

too early. they only protest when the sun is high and it's nice and warm...

i guess he stayed in the hotel next to her office last night. they had snipers on separate levels in her building (trib tower).

One of my crazy coworkers did that last week. Our receptionist asked her why she pulled it and she said, "I don't want to talk about it." and walked away.

He'll be out in Aurora later this afternoon.
It's a pity that I'll be at work...
Allah Ackbar...hmmmm...

thrillho
what was he wearing?
seriously. does he wear a suit to a nonformal breakfast? or just like slacks and a polo shirt, tucked in of course. it must be hard being the president. you always have to look fancy.
jasmine
He was wearing a regular black suit.

He's a lot sturdier than I thought he'd be. I guess I had him pegged as a wiry guy, but he's not. Good head of hair, too.
Uncle Remus
why's he going to be in Aurora? Why doesn't he just go to Harvey while he's at it? Or Robbins?

also, did anyone see any of this jackass on Larry King last night? Can he ever do any interview alone? Remember when he had to testify in that Plame thing? He had to have Cheney with him. And what's with that wife of his? She looks like she wears space suits everywhere.

That it does. Cult of personality, and all that. I was pumped when I shook Clinton's hand. Of course, it helps that I voted for the guy and generally approved of the job he was doing.

Did he give you the ol' palm tickle?

i met clinton back in 2000 at the democratic convention and it was seriously the most overcome by a person i'd ever been, not only because he's the president and a incredibly large personality, at that. he's just so freaking handsome and very, very charismatic. i was surrounded by all these dignitaries and politicians and i don't even remember meeting the lot of them. bill clinton, man.

How do you feel about Monica? Were you attracted to Clinton at all?

like, as a person or the entire "scandal" - i could care less about either, in all honesty. and i'm certainly glad his reputation has risen above it and he's known as the amazing politician he is and was. it's awful that he has that asterisk by his name for the rest of history and that he was in office at the time when the right had all the cards in all the right places, but he's still 4957345234 times a better president than the people surrounding him.

he's an older man. he's charming and he has a lot of power. of course i was attracted to him.

Not as a person, but can you understand what she did and why she did it? The whole thing fascinates me, because an older woman, no matter how rich or powerful or whatever is just an old broad to me, there is no attraction there.

i understand her attraction to the president, and even just to the person clinton and how she got herself into the situation she did. i don't completely understand how she trusted the certain people she did and also how she tried to milk the situation as much as she did (using her situation to bribe officials to get her a job, and of course the entire explosion of her in the press and media. she tries to make herself off as a victim but we all know she loved most of it). i also think shes from a fairly well off family and her personailty is pretty much opposite of my own, so i really doubt shes as innocent as she tries to make herself out to be. in the end i find her incredibly materialistic and shallow and got herself into a really bad, embarassing situation without fully thinking about what it would cost her, just planning on being famous. shrug.

you aren't even attracted to, like, sophia lauren or someone of that stature?
Uncle Remus
the only older woman (above say, 50) I'm attracted to, I'm pretty sure, is Susan Sarandon personally.

Men become a bit more handsome or rugged with age a lot of the time while women just become grandmothers mostly.
Mitchell
Bush was 60 last week and Clinton 60 next month. No contest there is it really looks wise.

Naw, I can't say that I am. I mainly like women my age or younger. I guess if I met a woman in person that was older and looked good and she charmed the pants off me, maybe. She'd have to have a pretty damn good personality though. And not wear muffin tops.

hahahah. isn't muffin top a part of the body, like when your pants aren't the correct size and you have the rolls of the fat coming over the pants? i mean, the way you wrote it... it sounds like a top, perhaps a bra like struture that, instead of cups, is made of muffin tops. and who wouldn't want their woman to wear those?
