Great list so far, hopefully this bodes well for the remainder.
Also, that Morphine track is ace, there a consensus album/greatest hits to pick up?

They switched labels in the middle, so there's no real greatest hits.
And, it doesn't seem like any Morphine fans can agree. My two favorites are the first (Good) and the last (The Night). If someone that knows your personal taste likes them, ask their opinion. For instance, I would say YES (where Honey White comes from) is their most uptempo. And Good is probably their most downtempo, FWIW.

I bloody hope not; Skinner's an arse.

US Chart Position: #40 Modern Rock / #11 Dance
UK Chart Position: #1
Acclaimed Music Ranking: #4 (year), #35 (decade), #308 (all-time)
AMG Says: "The breakout single that helped the Chemical Brothers' second album become one of the first electronica works to hit platinum in America, "Block Rockin' Beats" rides a Schooly D vocal sample, careening pitch-bent synth work, and depth-charge beats into a commercial, critical, and artistic home run of a single. Producers Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons, influenced equally by the streamlined futurism of techno, the bracing energy of hip-hop, and the wave-of-sound atmosphere of indie rock, fused all three with the first single and first track from 1997's Dig Your Own Hole. "Block Rockin' Beats" really set the template for the funky-breaks techno heard on dozens of car commercials during the few years after its production, and though Rowlands and Simons were by no means traditional poster boys, the single put a face on independent dance music that helped many acts cross over to the mainstream."

Air - "Sexy Boy"Year: 1998
US Chart Position: #22 Dance
UK Chart Position: #13
Acclaimed Music Ranking: #8 (year), #122 (decade), #898 (all-time)
AMG Says: ""Sexy Boy" is the song that single-handedly put not only Air, but the French dance music scene as a whole, on the UK and US radar in late 1997. A simple but addictive combination of a killer fuzztone riff that wouldn't sound out of place on a '60s garage rock single, pitch-manipulated vocals (nope, that's not guest singer Beth Hirsch, who appears on several other tracks on Moon Safari, but Jean-Benoit Dunckel and Nicolas Godin themselves providing the breathy, sexy female-sounding vocals both on the dreamy, elliptical verses and the pounding, hook-filled chorus) and a groovy '70s-style electric piano solo, "Sexy Boy" is that rarity, a song that's suitable for both a crowded dancefloor, where the assertive but not overpowering bassline takes lead, and quiet late-night headphone listening, when space rock touches like the sonar-like pings and rippling vintage synth whooshes reveal themselves. It's a truly marvelous single, possibly the best five minutes of the entire "electronica" era."

Girls Aloud - "Love Machine"Year: 2004
US Chart Position: n/a
UK Chart Position: #2
Acclaimed Music Ranking: n/a
The SOMB Says: Shame on you. Shame on me. Shame on us all for doubting that Nadine, Cheryl, Kimberly, Sarah, Nicola and the rest of the Xenomania crew could create something surpassing the heights of “No Good Advice” and “Life Got Cold”. We should have known right from the twang of the opening riff that “Love Machine”was going to be the brightest diamond in a year loaded with UK pop gems. With less BPM but more spunk than its preceding single, “The Show”, “Love Machine” is a near 3-minute and half demonstration in pop perfection. As if the shuffling skiffle beat (!!!), the nimble wordplay and the sass meter being turned up a notch (“We’re gift wrapped kitty cats/We’re only turning into tigers when we gotta fight back”) weren’t enough, the chorus explodes with a sugary burst of purring harmonies, cymbal riding and WTF lyrics, (“I need a squeeze a day/Instead of this negligee/What will the neighbours say?”), giving us one of the best and most joy inducing musical moments of 2004. We should have known better. We should have known that they were more than just love machines feeding our pop fantasy. –

Oasis - Some Might Say EPYear: 1995
US Chart Position: n/a
UK Chart Position: #1
Acclaimed Music Ranking: #15 (year), #124 (decade), #899 (all-time)
Rank on Our All-Time Singles List: #437
AMG Says: ""Some Might Say," inspired as it is by the Small Faces, might be described as a cross between the sensational "Whatever" and "Cigarettes and Alcohol." Like the Bunnymen's "Bring on the Dancing Horses," it's all but an "Oasis best-of" in a song, as incredibly hooky and great as anything they've done to date, with the Gallaghers doing a nice bluesy harmony before a theatrical lyric-trill on the chorus words "in the rain" catch the listener. May it sell a million copies. "Talk Tonight," another acoustic track for Noel to sing, was inspired by the Fall of '94 near-breakup of the band in Los Angeles, when he walked out, and it's probably the most vulnerable track they've attempted as a result (a far cry from Liam's ever-present bluster). Lastly, "Acquiesce" and the faster, harder "Headshrinker" are more appealing guitar rockers via the Small Faces' blues-chord heavy rock angle. As a final note, let me say that if you compile the 10 non-LP tracks from Cigarettes and Alcohol, Whatever and Some Might Say, plus "Slide Away" and "Live Forever," you've got an LP that's twice as good as the otherwise sharp Definitely Maybe; yes folks, they're getting better. Way better. That they are overcoming the anti-English bias in the States of late is cause for celebration as well."
