So yeah, I've been distracted, but the day is still young, so I figure it's time to get started with this.

I like this list a lot. Not all the selections are too my liking, but for the most part, I have never felt greater solidarity with the board's mindset than I do for this period of singles. Glad to be here for this one.

we probably have the same #1, and it's gonna be like top five.

edit: I'll be the first to say, wow how surprisingly low is that song.
Mitchell
Good start.
vurt
When I first heard that song I thought Ash would be my new favourite band. They always had a knack for great singles but never quite made an album that lived up to their best songs.

Wilco - "Can't Stand It"

Year
: 1999

US Chart Position: n/a

UK Chart Position: #67

Acclaimed Music Ranking: n/a

AMG Says: "A quirky, engaging opening to the Summerteeth album, "I Can't Stand It" makes references to the dichotomy and juxtapositions that are all over the record. There is a balancing of joy and pain, resolve and regret. All of these thoughts are punctuated by a funky, swampy groove which is buttressed by Jeff Tweedy's 12-guitar riffs and the ornate chimes and piano, all of which create a dense panorama that is, in a word, striking."

Ranked Highest By: Tracy Jacks (#15)

Can Be Most Easily Found On: Summerteeth

Go GDB go.
Surprised that you selected to go with singles first. Usually LP's first. Must be something to do with SOMB mindset, right?

Is anyone else getting 'unknown file' for that Wilco song?
The Good Dr Bill
oh shit, I knew there was a reason why I didn't use SendSpace for these lists. Fuck.

people you gotta tell me these things, I won't know on my own

I've actually gotten them all to work so far, but I had to rename the file myself to something with .mp3 extension.
The Good Dr Bill
yeah for some reason SendSpace doesn't like the "#" character

all right, links should be good now

I think this song comes up more on my iPod than anything else and that is not a bad thing.

Should I download the Morphine and Son Volt songs, or wait until the album list and download the whole albums? Never heard either group. Hold on... do you y'all send the thing the albums on the album lists, Bill? mellow.gif Ay ay ay, I am confus-ed.
السلام عليكم و رحمة الله و ب
grab the Morphine song; if you like it, you'll like everything they've ever done. If you don't, then you might not.
kilgore trout
Much like Wilco, Son Volt has about 2 songs I like. That one isn't one of them.
