This doesn't look promising. First off, I can't find the link to create these little critters. And this file>services...I don't see it. We talkin' Safari here (that's how I roll)?
EDIT: Nevermind...found "Services" under Safari>Services. Still need the link.

after you hit that button, go to the start menu --> programs ---> accessories --> open Paint.
when paint opens up, go to Edit --> Paste.
your image shows up. hooray for Alan! pat yourself on the back.

in paint you have tools on the left. click on the box with porous walls. click and drag that to make a box covering your bad self in south park form.
you should now have ants running in a rectangular formation around your cartoon character.
go back up to edit, select either Cut or Copy. then go to File and click "New". now Paste.
post results here, and call for a teacher to come over and check your work. Exercise 2 will begin in 10 minutes.

Seamus, try this on the Mac at home: I couldn't get Grab to work in Netscape so I used the old cmd-shift-3 to get a screen shot (it'll show up on your desktop as Picture 1) and then dragged that into GraphiConverter to crop & save as a jpg (Seamus if you can store your .bmp as a .jpg, then paste it into your photobucket account if you have one and paste that [img][/img] link here ane we'll see it onscreen w/o having to d'load).
Really, all you should have to do at this point is convert your .bmp to .jpg or .gif, put it in photobucket or some other graphics server, and paste the link here.

Yeah, rub it in. I think one of the big things holding me back is that I'm not down with this photobucket stuff--I don't think I have a site to upload the image to, where I can then just click the little image icon when I post and insert the URL. I mean, I'm registered at Ophoto, but I think that just sends albums 'n sh*t. I'm 'a keep workin' at it.
