I'm going on Saturday to see Stacy Keach in a play that Harold Bloom has called the pinnacle of English Literature.
If you've never read King Lear...do Whoever wrote it had clearly read Sartre and Beckett.

If you get sleepy, maybe Stacy can give you a bump.

It did until about the mid 19th century when they dumped Nahum Tate's rewrite and went back to Shakespeare's original ending.

So my favorite play ever is going on right now in Chicago. But I can't quite imagine spending upwards of $60 to see it. Maybe someday.

Since about WW2, Lear has overtaken Hamlet as being regarded as his best. Who's to say it won't swing back one of these days.

Stacy Keach is un-fuck-wit-able. I wish I could remember to listen to his Twilight Zone radio show more often. (It airs in Chicago on WGN-AM, Saturday at midnight (www.twilightzoneradio.com)

Great stuff! When Lear carries out Cordelia at the end she's stark naked. It's Shakespeare as a Martin Scorsese movie. Stacy Keach occasionally verges on Stacey Kitsch but overall was great.

Nevermind then. haha.
I'll shoot for next week. It'll be hard to find someone to go with though.
