A most predictable low budget scifi flick with surprisingly decent model effects :

I swear, the personnel involved in this production is unreal. Robert Vaughn, James Cameron, Gale Anne Hurd, Darlene Fluegel, George Peppard, James Horner, John Sayles... it's really stunning just who's behind the scenes here. However, this is a terrible film (the hero's spaceship has tits, for God's sake), one I vaguely recall seeing in the theater when I was like, 9. Which is really the only reason I watched it today : it was on the tube, I had the day off, and I needed a "good nap" movie to drift in and out of. This certainly qualifies. I might have to rent it just to hear Gale Anne Hurd's commentary...

Saw this one in the theatre down in the loop when I was ten years old.
Back when there was a seedy side to downtown.
Yes, John Sayles does sci-fi remake of Seven Samurai. Can't go wrong with that.
Also you left out the most important part..

John Saxon
