"Hot Indie Rock of 2006 - Clap Your Hands Say Yeah"

Little late on that one.

Are you confused that people are buying "The Greatest" or that it is considered "alternative"? Because remember, alternative rock was basically the name given to college rock of the 80's when it went mainstream and the "indie rock" that all you kids enjoy today is pretty much just an extension of the college rock.

And if you look on the rest of the chart, you'll find TV on the Radio, Regina Spektor, Band of Horses, M. Ward and Neko Case, so it seems to fit in pretty well with the rest of those.

well, no offence to older posters here, but it seems like older people music from itunes than say students, so it's not that surprising that such an adult contemporary album like "the greatest" would be on their top list.

Have you heard The Greatest?
Artem
i preordered both the cd and the vinyl after seeing her live about 2-3 months before the release. that was a very dumb preorder.

Just wondering when/why an album that was released a year ago would suddenly pop up on something as mainstream as iTunes.

It was reissued a little while ago with a lower list price by Matador and has been popping up on EOY Lists from mainstream and not so mainstream sources.

Why anyone would want to purchase the album after seeing the live show is beyond me. I guess maybe if you wanted to see what the songs sound like when they aren't interupted and there's no doodling at the beginning and end of them (I'm a big CP fan, btw, The Greatest was no 12 for me this year).
Twilight
Because: 1. It has been showing up on a lot of year end lists 2.Her music has been in a few commercials.

A bit of a side-note, The Areas of My Expertise is available as a free audio book on the iTMS right now. Or at least it was yesterday. Book is hilarious, so I would think the audio book is as well.
