Any plans to suggest some good bands to check out a South-by-Southwest this March?

As I recall, there's usually a re-hash of which bands were good after the fact, but some advice on not-to-be-missed bands would be welcome. This year will be my first trip to SXSW, not sure if enough listeners go to make it worth mentioning this on-air, but if any show's demographic is likely to go, Sound Opinions would be it...

they usually do a whole show devoted to SXSW

you see, there's this show called Sound Opinions, it's the world's only rock and roll talk show. i was referring to the show, you nimrod moterfucker. i listen to every episode via podcast, but don't tell anyone on the board here, they all think i'm a really cool oldster still. you know for the kids, keep the kids belief in growing old gracefully alive.

what am i babbling about?

cursed bourbon! makes the dripping sounds inside my head go away but does not do wonders for my late nite internet posting abilities. i'm basically talking to myself here, no one actually goes in this page of the somb.

to quote Camper Van Beethoven, "i dedicate this next song to myself."

Anyone else considering going down. I have to do it one of these years and I may try and get down there but I'll have to do it last minute. Then I'll be wondering if I can find a hotel room once down there.

I'm stoked, the only thing that sucks is I was hoping to catch Beach House on tour, and they're skipping SXSW, and they're playing San Diego the night I leave. Bitches.

Hi guys ~ cool site you have here - my first post!

Won't be able to go… and for the rest of you that may not make it either, check out the SXSW Showcase page the organizers have setup to allow us access to music of the artists who’ll play the gig - loads and loads of free / legal MP3! Very Cool:
