Yup. This is staggeringly great. I didn't even dig the last Caribou album enough to keep it but this one is sounding amazing on second listen. "She's the One" is transcendant, an amazing synthesis of 60s girl groups and organic electronics. I'm going to need to play this on a much nicer sound system so I can hear everything much more clearly, but, to my ears, this is on a different level entirely than his other output.

To these ears, the album's also got the 'sound' that he's been trying to get on the past few attempts.

'Goodnight Rose' is a monster of a way to kick the album off.

Yeah. It's good to hear him stick to the Cold Roses template because that's what he does best. Perfect mix of midtempo rock and frail weepy acoustic stuff; no snarkiness, no meandering, no overbearing mope-rock, just totally solid throughout. Didn't expect him to reign himself in and produce 40 minutes of lean, strong music, but it works, and it's about 100 times more satisfying than 29. I hope it's mixed and mastered like it's supposed to be, because I agree, it sounds great. Surprisingly unpolished but sharp.

yeah... Easy Tiger is pretty fucking great, flaws and all.
