My god. It really is. Especially "Gronlandic Edit" and "The Past is a Grotesque Animal"... The only thing i don't like is how originally most of the songs had somewhat normal titles (ex: Gronlandic Edit was called "I Guess It Would Be Nice"), then Barnes decided to rename them with kooky titles just for the sake of doing it... Unless the titles have a deeper meaning which i'm missing...
Phenomenal album though... Easily their best work.

Yep, Yep. I'm totally jumping on the

I am on the bandwagon now as well. This is an amazing CD, great melodies. It's playful like their older things but at the same time more serious... and the melodies are great. Gronlandic Edit is great.

yeah, i just figured out the track name changes the other night.
regardless, i do believe that "Hissing Fauna..." may be my favorite album of this first month and a half of 07. It's just really really good. The darker tones really shine and set this apart from the other happier, fruitier stuff their catalogue is made up of.

Alright, this isn't exactly a 2007 release, but I thought I'd put it in here anyway. This is a rerelease of an EP from 2004 by The Blow, who made my favorite album of last year (
Paper Television). Along with the songs that were originally on the EP, it's got six remixes of five of the songs. I really love this stuff. Dancey electropop with these oddly great, simple yet abstract lyrics.
