What's up evryone, been reading the board for a while and have been very much appreciative of all the links, so I thought i would contribute something. This is the new album from WIntersleep called Welcome To THe Night Sky. These guys are one of my favorite bands and i have never seen them mentioned here if there is any intetrest I could up there other albums as well. this is among my favorite releases of this year and i highly recommend it.

Anyone have either the Worried Noodles or Puppy Love compilations that have come out on Tomlab recently? WN is various artists reinterpreting the "songs" of David Shrigley, people like TVOTR, Dirty Projectors, Hot Chip, Grizzly Bear... PL is a label sampler of stuff they've put out over the last ten years. Also, does anyone have Steve Reid's new album "Daxaar", meant to be a full band, deep jazz odyssey recorded in Africa with Kieran Hebden?

How does this compare to his first record? Yea, I know I could just download and listen to it, but your response could save me time.

What is this "I'm Not There" movie?

New Todd Haynes movie where a bunch of actors play Bob Dylan in various incarnations, none of which are actually Dylan (could be wrong here... anyone?) I heard it described as "a Dylan movie not about Dylan" or something like that. Sounds like some serious free jazz bullshit.

yeah...to clarify a bit more none of the 6 incarnations of dylan are ever called "bob dylan." instead they have names like jed and represent the artist at a certain point in his career. i believe the 6 dylans are: dylan @ childhood, dylan the student dylan the folkie, electric/eccentric mid-60s dylan, superstar mid-70s dylan and religious/cowboy late 80s dylan.

Great soundtrack. All of it's at least decent, none of it obviously ever tops the originals. Cat Power (who I'm not a fan of) is perfect fit on Stuck Inside of Mobile (though I do hate the way she says Mama), Tweedy's Simple Twist of Fate is great, and as mentioned above Antony turns one of the only bad Dylan songs into something quite beautiful.

Also, Ramblin' Jack Elliott completely owns the entire set with his song. Makes sense that one of Dylan's idols would be the only guy able to carry the weight of Bob himself.

I should probably hear the original versions first before these.
