SOMB Sounds - Vol. II</a>
KENAN THOMPSON
this is one of the best things i've heard all year, and i hvae probably bothered to listen to like six original bob dylan tracks this year.

great, great stuff, especially sonic youth's cover. karen o is a lot of fun, too, her version of highway 61 is like 39472394 times better than pj harvey's.

Million Dollar Bashers are a heck of a backing band!

Lee Ranaldo (guitar), Steve Shelley (drums), Tony Garnier (bass), Tom Verlaine (guitar), John Medeski (keyboards), Smokey Hormel (guitar), Nels Cline (guitar)

How does this compare to his first record? Yea, I know I could just download and listen to it, but your response could save me time. smile.gif

I like it quite a bit more than the first one... and I liked the first one a lot. The addition of Chad Hugo and Pharrell's production makes a huge difference. The album doesn't really flow, but there are a lot of solid tracks. I would say that Daylight, Say Goodbye To Love, Sun Red, Sky Blue and Wide Awake are the highlights.

Damn, that version of "Knockin' on Heaven's Door" by Antony is simply beautiful.

just picked it up today and good god is that true. i've only listened to the whole record once through but this is high in the running for the best song of the set. i really should check his record out.

I know that they're giving it away for free tomorrow, a la radiohead. Of course if you want a bitrate higher than 192Kbs you have to pay $5 or more.

Here's a couple tracks to preview:

This Will Destroy You debut LP leaked I guess in the last day or 2. If anyone has it, that would be great. If you don't know them, they'rel a very promising new Post-Rock band.
Dark Flame
I'm pretty certain that their debut album is fairly old now. I've had it on my computer for a few months, and their MySpace you linked says 2005.
