we're in the studio recording our new cd. it is tentatively called "Go Tell Somebody" (which is a song on the record). it's 14 songs long and is produced once again by michael wagener. it has been going extremely well. !!!

we are also going to be launching a new official site this year. it will be fully functional very soon. i'll give you more details when it is!

Through six songs, it's blowing Howl out of the water, and I actually liked Howl. Very exciting, might have to catch them when they are back here in May.

Edit: Through the entire album, it blows Howl out of the water. This is fucking great! American X is a killer track, 9 minutes+, but never boring. Heard some clicks throughout the album, so it's not CD quality, but it doesn't last all that long (it's in a few songs) and it's not enough to overly interfere with the songs. Very pleased with this one.

I've heard that some of the songs on this new album are Jerry's too. Thanks for the link...that made me smile, it's basically the way Dug is whenever you talk to him. They're just the nicest guys. Can't wait to see them again.

new BRMC is pretty fucking hot through 6 tracks...

Thanks to cdv for posting the new BRMC. It's pretty damn good after a couple of listens. In fact, it may even be their best. It's certainly their most consistent. The album does seem to go on a bit too long (13 songs, over an hour), and might stand some pruning and tightening up. One song that need not be pruned or tightened is "American X". That song really screams 'epic set closer'.

I didn't read any of the reviews for this so I had no idea what to expect, judging from their name I assumed Peter Bjorn & John / B&S twee and wasn't that excited. Wow, was I ever surprised from what I heard. Only half of the way through my first listen though, hope side 2 holds up.

That's a good song that had me hyped for the album. The rest of the album sounds nothing like it.

it's not that far off honestly... but yeah, it is a fairly trebly record, which might turn some people off...

it took me a few listens to get past it, but i love the whole thing.

Absolutely. It's like the Beta Band gave themselves a do-over after blowing all that early promise. Actually, that's pretty much exactly what it is. Album's neck-and-neck with Neon Bible for my early tops of 07
