This Shapes and Sizes is pretty good. I can see it falling out of my radar super fast or growing in my joy radar, which is a whole different radar. The Taste in My Mouth is really quite possibly one of the better songs I've heard in a long time. the computer glitched vocal stretches sound really cool too.

I saw in another thread that the new Bright Eyes album is up on OiNK. I am not an Oinker, but if someone who is would get it and up it for me, I would just about do anything.
Seriously, dudes. Fucking anything.
would "anything" be as radical as just waiting a few weeks for the street date?
Probably not, considering this lot. And I do plan on buying this record (Despite having a son, I still buy a shitload of music). I was just hoping for something a little more. I've been relistening to
Wide Awake(full disclosure: my 2005 album o' the year), and have been getting psyched for this album.
Besides, the most I can really offer is a dessert from where my wife works (a snotty upscale Geneva bakery).
EDIT: DL'ing it right now in the thread dedicated to it. Gots me something to listen to tomorrow. Sorry about the promises removed, but whoever upped it must not have read my letter from this thread.

I hear ya, man. In fact, it is already on my joy radar. Fuck it, ill say this right now: this could very well be my album of the year. And yes, i know how ridiculous that sounds coming so early, but seriously. Stunning record. It is beautiful, fun, unique, noisy...I love how S&S's solid, if not particularly exceptional, debut album from last year is followed up some 8 months later with this fucking epic sophomore record.

It's a live album - one track, 40 mins, recorded in either 2004 or 2005 (depending on which source you read), #9 in the Super Roots series. You get the sense that Eye uses the audience noise as part of the track itself, i.e. the audience becomes part of the music - a real interesting move that causes the listener to be aware of a whole other way to listen to a live recording and the tribal influences Boredoms have been accumulating since Super Roots 6 or so. Anyway, it's pretty great in parts - maybe on the whole, too; I've only listened once - and I'll post it tonight if nobody else does.

I haven't listened to the new album yet but this is a pretty good description of later Silverchair stuff (Neon Ballroom/Diorama). I remember being 11 or 12 and being up at my friend's cottage when
Frogstomp had just come out, we had that thing cranked most of the weekend (I'm sure
Throwing Copper and
Sixteen Stone came for the trip as well). I think they've really tried to grow and evolve as a band (as opposed to say Live and Bush), when they probably could have kept doing the same thing over and over again like those bands. Their more recent albums have been pretty hit or miss in my opinion, with some very good songs and some that just don't work very well. These guys were like 15 when Frogstomp, came out as well if I remember, they could still have some good stuff in them if they keep progressing and trying new things.
