Many thanks for this. After a listen and a half, I can safely say this has some really great moments. The middle, aka, the more upbeat section, is really doing it for me right now. It sounds like a hybrid of Earlimart/Elliott Smith/GRandaddy (obv)/Badly Drawn Boy. It's really good stuff.

But hey, at least now it's not as fictional as it's been for the last five years or so...

Maybe I need another few listens. It seems a bit darker than his past stuff. It's definitely not as cohesive. So far I'm disappointed in it, definitely not up to the standards of past efforts.

I like it, but it seems like he read the Pitchfork reviews and tried to compromise with them.

Finally getting around to this one. MUCH better than expected here. Even with the way I felt about Apologies to the Queen Mary and Shut Up I Am Dreaming, I definitely wasn't sold on this one before I got a chance to listen to it.

Interesting aesthetic. Electro-guitar? I don't know. Still working my way through it.

I wish I could listen at work.

I don't necessarily expect this to be good, but I'm interested to hear what he might do. he was always the least visible member of that band, yet one of the more accomplished musically speaking (well, they were all great musicians. they're lots of reasons to pan Phish, but musicianship is not one of them).

so i'm interested to hear what he does when given the leader role.

It's very different from the Vida Blue sound he had going a few years back. I definitely dug what I heard, kinda had that early 70's organ powered feel.

There's one song on his myspace page as well, for the studio sound. For some reason, I am quite excited by this album based on the limited material Ive heard.

I posted some of the earlier leaks..which the quality was only fair. That's the 1st "full leak" which happened only in the last few days; however impressive that is or not. I, while I'm dealing with hearing problems right now, can only say among some crowds, this album was/is supposed to be a huge deal. And it's thus far for me a good album, but I can't claim it to fully have lived up to the HYPE it's received. The epic ANESTHETIZE is a classic piece. The 17 seconds of thrash are well worth the build up/wait.
