This is where we all make love to the sweet & salty sounds of Ghostland Observatory.

They're playing an 18+ show at Schubas on Monday, April 23rd. All princes and paupers urged to attend.

one of the best live acts around. possibly the best frontman in rock today.
on record, meh.
I'm the biggest fangirl for GLO eva! Just ask RoBKoz or Yancy. It's true. Now y'all get yer asses to this show! Come dance with me!
RoBKoz and I were like giddy little school girls all day after getting the news. haha.
Here, have some songs:
Rich ManSilver CityAnd yes, dr.jimmy, Aaron is an amazing frontman. The dude has got the moves! After the first Abbey Pub show he put his arm around me and told some girls I was from Austin to keep them from buggin' him. That was the highlight of the night for me. haha. Fangirl nerd.

I hate to pull this lame old "fixed" shit, but fixed all the same. Aaron from Ghostland has a strong hold on second place.
Wait, why did I reply to disagree with DrJimmy when he actually praised a band I love? Forget I said anything.

i had to look up some Ark performances. i can't judge fairly because i've seen Aaron up close.
ola seems more about camp, aaron is pure sex....both have great voices, i didn't see ola belt it out the way aaron can, but it sounds like he might be able to. ola's got a clever sense of drama, aaron's got moves that ola dreams about.

gay is the operative word. i don't know of another frontman in rock who projects as much pure macho sex as aaron does. the drummer from dfa1979 was close, i guess.

RobKoz knows of what he speaks. I've never seen Schubas shake and shimmy like that. Aaron remains one of the very best frontmen in music today. There wasn't a dry crotch in the house.

Awesome. One day we'll be all like, "remember when they asked me to help them find a place to play in Chicago because no one would have them and now Thomas doesn't even return my phone calls. Mr. Bigstuff." Haha. One day, perhaps.
Maybe I should try to call him now and see what happens. I'll tell him RoBKoZ says "hi!"

edit: I should clarify that I haven't called him since they played the Abbey Pub. It's tempting though.

i've always thought that you had good, all-around taste...how can you not appreciate how awesome these guys are? definitely, give them another chance.
i'll admit that, initially, their recorded stuff didn't blow me away, but the live element of these guys is very unique and amazing, and it gave me an added visual to appreciate their 2 CDs and now I wait for the new stuff...i've seen a lot of bands in my life and ghostland completely live up to the hype that i place upon them...and i don't just recommend any old random band/artist.
the word is just gonna continue spreading...from a $6 show at abbey pub in Aug 2006 w/ prob 100 people tops...to $10 abbey pub in October 2006 with more than double cuz word was spreading...to a sold out Schubas in April 2007...and another sold out show tomorrow night for an after-party show...this is how it works...
