Obit: Tina Turner

Tina Turner was the undisputed queen of rock and roll, though she didn't attain the title until she was in her forties. Jim and Greg pay tribute to the legend by recounting her many accomplishments and the many trials she overcame. She recently died at age 83.

Chuck Berry

Author RJ Smith has written hosts Jim and Greg's favorite biography of rock and roll founder Chuck Berry. In their interview, they analyze Berry's creative method and how disconnected he was in his later career. They also discuss his many misdeeds- some he was convicted of in court and others he wasn't.

Dear Listeners,

For more than 15 years, Sound Opinions was a production of WBEZ, Chicago's public radio station. Now that the show is independent, we're inviting you to join the band and lend a hand! We need your support more than ever because now we have to do all the behind-the-scenes work that WBEZ handled before (like buying insurance and paying for podcast hosting, ugh). Plus, we have some exciting ideas we'd like to try now that there's no one to tell us no!
